You and Ludwig were dancing slowly to a wonderful romantic song. You wore the dress he always liked and twirled around in it as the fireplace added a nice backdrop.He smiled warmly and twirled around too. You laughed as he tried to copy your twirls.

"heh heh Did I do it right?"
"heh heh almost."
" Well I'm not wearing a dress. I just wouldn't look as pretty as you do while wearing it."
"Luddy you are so sweet."
"It is because I love you."

Ring Ring Rung. A soldier came from around the corner into the dining area and told Ludwig that his boss was on the phone. You watched as Ludwig picked up the phone.He spoke in his native language as usual and you went idle. You watched as his face went from smiling to serious.He placed the phone back on the receiver. He went and grabbed his trench coat and told the soldier to get the car ready. He went to you and you became worried.

"________ you know I love you right?"
"Of course but what is going on?"
"I promised to keep you safe."
"Ludiwg?"
"________, please just do what I ask. Klein will guard the house. Only answer the phone when there are two rings between 3 second intervals."

"Sir, the car is ready for you. I promise to keep her safe."
" she is not to venture beyond the area this includes the gate."
"Ludwig please tell me what's going on. You're scaring."

Ludwig went over to you and kissed you on the forehead.
"Honestly I don't know myself. Ich liebe dich ________."

He ran out the house and jumped into the car. You watched from the front porch as the army vehicle drove off. There was a heavy feeling in your heart.Things were suppose to be calm for Germany but you knew that they would only get worse.Klein went over to you in a salute.

"Gnädige Frau, you should come back inside before you catch a cold."

 It had been 3 months since you heard from Ludwig, unexpectedly he showed up gifting you a big teddy bear with a bow resembling Germany's flag. Your eyes filled up with tears and reached to comfort you but you slapped him in the face. He stood their stunned and his body became still.

"Why are you hiding secrets from me Ludwig!?!Why didn't you tell me that you were at war!?!?"

"It was only to keep you safe."
"You think me worrying about is good for my health? You know how hard it is to listen to the radio and hear that you've been invading countries killing off people, in your own country?!!"
"_________ please understand that not telling you was the only way to keep you out of harms way."
"Damn't!"

  You sank to your knees crying into your hands but that didn't stop them from flowing in between your fingers and hitting your thighs.Ludwig became extremely saddened as he watched you cry endlessly.

"What would happen to me if I decided to up and leave you.The country."
"If you resisted then you would be taken prisoner, or killed on the spot."
"That is why I cannot take you with me."
"Führer" Klien whispered.

Ludwig nodded and began to walk back out the house. You followed behind him with your face locked on to him. He looked back as he climbed into the passengers seat.
"Ich liebe Sie immer." I will always love you.

  Germany had changed drastically. He spent some days home but the most off at war. Their were dark circles under his eyes and it looked like all the joy in life had been sucked right from him. Ludwig never smiled. His only replies were ja,nein, or just a simple nod.When you two made love it never felt passionate. It was as if he was only satisfying the need for pleasure, just to get off.You decided to wake up early and make a good breakfast and wear that dress he always wore but you were tired out from last nights...affair and Ludwig winded up waking up first.

  The sound of a roaring engine woke you up and you looked beside you to see that Ludwig was gone. You bolted out of bed only wearing a white nightgown. You bolted down the stairs and pushed open the front door. The truck was driving off and you stood there staring at the smoke the truck made. Then your feet started moving all on their own. The rushing air hit you in the face as you took off after the truck as fast as you could.

"Ludwig!!Ludwig!!Ludwig!!" You cried. You had gone past the boundaries as the truck gained speed and was inching away from you. Klein had raced after you and had grabbed you before you hit the bridge. You punched at his chest to let you go and you screamed out for Ludwig. You were torn into pieces. Your love for him made you neglect your own safety.Klein let go of you as you hit the ground and pounded your fist against it. Tears streaming down your face.
